Products I Use In My Business

Trevor GreenfieldOne of the questions that I get asked a lot is what products I use in my business.

I've used many products and services over the years to help me drive my business forward and still use lots of outside products and services now.

On this page I've listed the products that I use now and also a few that I've found useful in the past that I may not be using everyday now but am happy to recommend to you.

Hosting

There are two main hosting companies that I currently use in my business that have provided excellent service over many years.

D9 Hosting
I have been using D9 Hosting for many years now and highly recommend them. One of the big benefits that D9 Hosting provide is free SSL certificates.

You may know that Google now rank sites with https better than sites without it and may even penalize sites that do not have a SSL certificate.

Buying certificates for all of your sites can get very expensive so getting SSL for free with ALL of your sites is a major cost saving.

D9 Hosting have hosting facilities both in the US and the UK allowing you to choose the one that's best for you.

Heart Internet
I have also been using Heart Internet for many years. I have a reseller account with them which allows me to provide a separate control panel for each account (domain) that I host.

Unlike most of the popular hosting companies, Heart Internet do not use cpanel as their control panel of choice.

Instead, they have their own proprietary control panel. I used to think that this was a drawback because it made it harder to transfer from cpanel hosting to Heart Internet.

However, the new owners of cpanel have recently (as I write this) increased the price of cpanel to hosting companies which could drastically increase hosting fees for people hosting with a cpanel hosting company.

This could mean that Heart Internet becomes a cheaper option in time.

Website/Web page builders

I'm using two software solutions to build my web pages. I've outlined both for you here.

optimizepress

Optimizepress
One of the two options that I currently use, Optimizepress is the more recent one that I now use. It allows me to create membership sites very easily using their Optimizemember plugin but also all of the squeeze pages, download pages and content pages that I need quickly and easily.

This site is built using Optimizepress - I love it.

Thrive Architect

Although I now use Optimizepress for any new sites (mostly membership style sites), I still have several sites that I created using Thrive Architect that I continue to use this software on. Thrive Architect used to be called Thrive Themes but the Thrive people have now renamed it to Thrive Architect.

It is still one of the best website builder softwares out there which is why I keep it in my arsenal of tools to use.

Autoresponders

I'm using two software solutions to manage my lists. I've outlined both for you here.

aweber

My main autoresponder since the very early days of autoresponders has been Aweber. The bulk of my lists are still managed there and the service from them has always been very good.

I have started more recently to manage some of my lists elsewhere but for the foreseeable future my main lists will remain with Aweber.

Getresponse

During the last few years I've also started using GetResponse as a secondary autoresponder. I started using it originally because people started emailing me  to say that creating squeeze pages (also often called landing pages) was getting in the way of them building their online business.

Creating these pages for non-technical people was difficult, if not impossible for them to do. However, I discovered that GetResponse had made creating these pages through the use of ready-made templates so I started to recommend GetResponse to them and it solved the problem.

Most autoresponders provide these sort of facilities now but GetResponse remains a favorite choice of mine and one that I still recommend to people who are technically savvy.
